Installing a Redundant License Code

There are several utilities you can use to install a redundant license
(lslic, rlftool,
and WRlfTool). However, we recommend
using lslic to add a redundant
license because you will not have to stop and restart the redundant License Managers for the change to take effect. For details on lslic, see lslic
- Install/Delete a License Code.

If you need the licenses to be added to a remote License Manager, set
the LSFORCEHOST environment variable on the computer on which you are
using lslic to the computer containing the redundant License Manager to
which you want to add the license code even if you are running lslic on
the License Manager’s computer.

You may only
use lslic to add redundant licenses after all the redundant License Managers
have been started with a redundant license file, lservrlf. For more information
on redundant License Managers and on using lslic to add redundant licenses,
see Using lslic to
Add Redundant Licenses.

For information on setting up a redundant License Manager pool,
see Setting
up the Redundant License Manager Pool.
