        <h1><a name="kanchor77"></a>Setting User Alerts</h1>
        <p>An alert lets you know about license events, such as when a license 
 reaches its expiration date. Sentinel RMS allows you to generate the following 
 seven alerts:</p>
        <ul>
            <li class="Bullets_1" value="1">Soft limit exceeded </li>
            <li class="Bullets_1" value="2">Hard limit reached (the 
 maximum number of licenses allowed) </li>
            <li class="Bullets_1" value="3">License issued </li>
            <li class="Bullets_1" value="4">License returned </li>
            <li class="Bullets_1" value="5">License denied (occurs 
 on the next request after the hard limit has been reached) </li>
            <li class="Bullets_1" value="6">License time-out </li>
            <li class="Bullets_1" value="7">License expiration date 
 reached (an expired license is loaded to the License Manager or a license 
 expired due to passage of time)</li>
        </ul>
        <p>Alerts are most frequently used with a network License Manager. This 
 capability is also available, however for a stand-alone license application.</p>
        <p>The alert reporting mechanisms are:</p>
        <ul>

            <li class="Bullets_1" value="2"><a href="Configuring Alerts Using Script.htm">Script</a>

        </ul>
        <p>You can specify/configure alerts through a <a href="Alert_Specifications.htm">simple 
 file interface</a>. </p>

        <p class="SpacedPara2">If script mechanism 
 is ON, and there is no SCRIPT statement in the same section, script mechanism 
 will be turned off. If email mechanism is ON, and there is no EMAIL statement 
 in the same section, email mechanism will be turned off. </p>
